GOOD MOVIE!  not the best acting, but the message is great.  i had been hearing about the movie, but didn't know what it was about.  i knew it must be tied into religion somehow since my former parish was saying they had it available for 1 night rental from the church library.  then one day at work, a coworker of mine was talking to me & randomly brought up the movie.  she said she had borrowed it from another one of our coworkers who owned it.  i asked that coworker if i could borrow it & watch it w/ my husband.  we both really liked it.  i think every marriage has those moments where you just nag on each other due to stress from day to day life.  it's convenient & much easier than being positive.  i think that it's important to work on not getting into the habit of constantly being negative because it can lead to a deep resentment for each other.  anyway, i don't want to say too much about the movie because i don't want to give anything away.  i definitely cried a few times.  there were some really good parts.

sorry for my last post that was pretty much pointless.  i have been slacking on updating because i am trying to do so much in a day & then i'm too tired to post most of the time.  i got the house picked up tonight & feel pretty organized & not too tired, so here i am.  lots going on lately...st. patrick's day was pretty uneventful for the most part.  i didn't even buy raegen a bib or outfit or anything.  i got her a card, but that's about it.  the only green she had in her outfit that day was in the stem of the flower on her sock!  i can blame jason because he dressed her.  i dunno...we just didn't get into st. pat's day too much this year.  maybe next year when raegen's older we'll go do something fun...go to the zoo or do a picnic or something...i just feel like week nights are impossible for doing something other than eating dinner, feeding raegen, playing, picking up, doing dishes, doing laundry, giving raegen a bath, putting her to bed (which can be crazy at times), and maybe getting in some exercise, a shower, or a movie w/ jason.  last night we were fortunate enough to go to dinner by ourselves after work.  jason's mom watched raegen later than usual for us, so that was nice.

a few weekends ago, we went to the farm.  i'll probably write about that on our family blog and not on here.  we took "sport" out last weekend.  i'll probably write about that on the shmee fam blog too.  i'm pretty caught up on pictures on facebook.  not much else to say, i guess.  here's a cute picture from our visit to the playground by our house the other day:

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

*SoNg Of ThE DaY*

-it won't be like this for long-  darius rucker

i don't care if st. pat's day has already passed.  i'm going to celebrate for the rest of march.  :)  i can't believe easter is almost here.  2009 is already flying by so fast already.  we have been busy busy little bees at the shmee household.  Miss Rae is getting around better than ever now.  she'll army crawl across the room before you know it.  i'm guessing she'll be walking within a month or so.  she can really move!  she likes to push her little walker toy all over the house (with mommy or daddy right there to catch her if she falls, of course).  we just took our new travel trailer (aka "Sport") out for the first time this weekend.  i'm exhausted.  so i'm going to bed now.

Valentine's Day

Listening to: Endless Love

-Diana Ross & Lionel Ritchie-

I had one of the best (if not THE best) Valentine's Day EVER.  It all started on Thursday, Feb. 12 when I got the most beautiful bouquet of red roses at work.  Not only were roses delivered, but also a little tiny cake in the shape of a heart that said "Love" on it.  So adorable.  When I got the call from the receptionist saying I had a delivery & that it was very beautiful, I was walking down the stairs thinking, "Awww, Jason sent me flowers!" but I was also thinking to myself, "I hope he sent some chocolates or something edible too." I figured he probably wouldn't since I'm trying to eat better, but when I got down there, I saw the mini-cake & I almost started crying.  He's seriously the best.  I told Jason women love getting flowers sent to them at work for 2 reasons: 1. the flowers are extremely gorgeous & smell so good, so basically for the aesthetics 2. it makes all the other women jealous! and what a good feeling that is! haha.  I had so many of my coworkers come to my desk & their jaws drop & say things like, "Wow, he really loves you!" which always makes a woman feel special.  For your viewing pleasure, I must share:

Pretty awesome, huh?  I brought them home on Friday in my recycle trash can that goes under my desk!  My boss made the suggestion.    My long lost friend Meagan (her dad was the one who passed away) and I hung out on Fri. while I sent Jason on a "guy's night" with his dad & future brother-in-law.  We reminisced & laughed about silly things we had done & we watched my wedding DVD since she wasn't at my wedding since we hadn't talked in roughly 5 or more years.  We had a nice time.  And she got to meet Raegen for the first time!!  She & I had gone out the Fri. before.  She took me to dinner at the Eaton Steakhouse & we had a bottle of wine & talked for about 3 hours!  Then we went to the Artichoke to listen to Danyelle (Jason's cousin's wife) sing.  I had so much fun.  I am really glad we're getting to reconnect.

Oh!  I totally forgot about Wed. night!  I'm dumb.  My aunt & uncle took us to see "He's Just Not That Into You" in the balcony at the Warren.  We had never seen a movie from the balcony before & it was very nice.  The seats are like a little love seat, perfect for couples.  Also, we got dinner and drinks to enjoy during the movie.  I forgot to say that when we got there, they gave us red roses too.  And I ran into one of my best friends from my Cholita's Strikers soccer playing days.  She was there w/ her parents & I hadn't seen them in so long!  It was a nice surprise.

Ok, so now we're back on schedule.  Sat. was Valentine's Day.  We woke up bright & early (thanks, Raegen) and decided to open presents.  It was like Christmas all over again!  Raegen had gifts from both sets of grandparents & from Nanny Hamilton.  She got a new book that sings from Mia & Pia and a little angel bear from Grandpa Gene.  Nanny got her a new dress & some new shoes & a summer outfit.  I got Jason 2 DVDs (the Godfather & Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (he loves that movie, lol)) and some retro Budweiser pint glasses for his new bar that's getting ready to be built.  He got me 2 bottles of my perfume & a phone charger for my car!  Yay!  I've been needing one.  And that's not all folks....

Apparently, we're going to see this man in concert in KC in August:

keith_urban_2

AHHHHHHHHHH!  I'm so excited!!!  Jason got to go with his sister & his dad when Keith was here in Wichita last year.  I guess the concert was so amazing that Jason thinks I need to see it & he should see it again.    He did tell me that if he ever went to see someone twice, it'd be Keith.  Also, our tickets are on the floor, so we're hoping he does what he did in Wichita - comes out into floor crowd & does a few songs.  That'd be so awesome.  I'm really pumped.  Plus, we'll have a romantic weekend away in KC.  If I do recall, a romantic getaway to KC is exactly what we did in September last year & lo & behold, baby Raegen was conceived!    haha.  Just saying...

Now for the rest of Valentine's Day...we hadn't really planned on going out to dinner or anything, but Jason had this deal he wanted to use at Ted's Montana Grill, so he called them up last minute & they were able to make a reservation for us, so we took Raegen & headed over there really quickly (it's right by our house).  We were going to have filet mignon, but they were out!  At 6 pm!  Craziness.  We had KC strips instead & had a chocolate fudge brownie for dessert (yeah, my diet went right out the window this weekend).  When we got home, we put Rae to bed & watched the rest of Titanic (Jason had been watching it with me throughout the week, a little bit at a time) and then I think we might have watched some of Season 3 of The Office & then off to bed.  It was a super weekend & I will always remember it.  Our first Valentine's Day with our daughter & as parents & it was everything I imagined.

We went over to Lisa & Skyler's house last night.  Hope was in town & Shauna came too & Lisa made us dinner!  We had spaghetti & meat sauce & garlic bread & then cake & cookies for dessert.  It was a lot of fun!  We played Scene It on the XBOX360 & played Loaded Questions: Adult Version!  Yeah!  haha.  So hilarious.  Their house is really cute & I hope they take care of it.  I think they will.

Ok, well I better go.  Today is my day off & I get to play with Raegen all day, so I'm going to take advantage of that.  BYE

Wowzers!

My daughter is 8 months old today.  Where in the world did the time go?  I feel so old.  I feel like I haven't slept in about 8 years as opposed to 8 months.  It seems to be getting better, but there are days when I just wish she would be all grown up already cuz I can't take it anymore.  I'm so exhausted.  Don't get me wrong; I love every minute of being with my daughter.  I just don't think I'm 100% used to it yet.  Some days I forget that I'm a mom.  It's still so new even though it's going by so fast.

We were in Manhattan this weekend for Brett's Memorial Bullride.  I was so glad we went.  Lori kept Raegen overnight & Jason & I hung out with the fam at the dance at R.C. McGraw's afterwards.  We had a blast.  We are definitely one crazy bunch.   I love his fam so much.  I consider them my family too.  We know how to have a good time.

I didn't really watch a lot of the Super Bowl.  We had some family over but I was so tired from the weekend.  We went to bed at 4 am on Sat.  Ugh.  That probably wasn't such a good idea.  I took a personal day & didn't go to work yesterday.  I had to catch up after the whirlwind weekend.  I'm still insanely tired.  I think I'll go to bed early tonight.  I need to go take Raegen's 8 mo. pics before her bath & before she goes to bed.  Bye!
